Hey guys, I’m Evan.

Speaker 2: (00:41)
And I’m Zach.

Speaker 1: (00:42)
And this is an earful podcast about farming and country life. So thanks for tuning in everybody. This is our first episode, so we’re just learning the equipment and, uh, kind of trying to figure out what we want to do on this. Zach and I have been, uh, friends and coworkers for quite a while now, and we spent a lot of time together talking about certain agricultural topics and just different things in our industry and around the, around rural areas. So we thought, heck, why not start a podcast and kinda spread some of our ideas and just some of our banter out to the, uh, to the masses.

Speaker 2: (01:22)
Yeah, I know. I mean, really we’re stuck in cabs and, uh, just stuck in tractors and combines and sprayers and equipment all year long. We’re always cranking podcasts on the radio and, uh, so we just thought we’d give it a stab and, um, at least

Speaker 1: (01:40)
Spread

Speaker 2: (01:40)
Some of our craziness around. It goes on around here and, uh, just try to cover a lot of odd and end topics. Uh, we do a lot. Um, so we’re, uh, excited to bring some, bring some, maybe some knowledge or maybe just some entertainment to you guys.

Speaker 1: (01:59)
So a little bit about me. My name’s Evan Schafer. I’m a third generation corn and soybean farmer. Um, worked with my dad and my grandpa until he passed, um, since I can remember since I could walk. Um, got a beautiful wife, three dogs and a uh, cat that comes home most nights. So, uh, try to stay busy between the farm and Zach and i’s business easy, custom ag services and, uh, we just, we’re just out here farming.

Speaker 2: (02:29)
Yeah. Um, trying to stay busy is usually not an issue. Um, we find that, um, it’s the opposite. So, um, again, my name’s Zach and I have been working for Evan’s dad since 2014, and then back 2018 timeframe, we decided to, uh, really just kind of go for broke and start a business, uh, centered it around, centered around fungicide application. Um, we went and bought a hagy, come up with a name, slapped it together, and now here we are five years later. Um, and we’re, we’re happy with how things are going. We’ve done a lot. We’ve, uh, made a lot of contacts. We’ve entered the more of the ag retail space as time has been moving on. So it’s been a, it’s been a crazy journey, honestly. Um, but a little more about me, uh, really just, uh, been working on the farm. I’ve always been interested in agriculture.

Speaker 2: (03:32)
I grew up on my grandpa’s farm. Um, just always just had a love for agriculture and, you know, we’re from Central Ohio and here where we’re from, it’s, this is a farming community. I mean, it, it really is. So it’s just always been a, it’s always been a love of mine. Um, I love being out in the field doing anything. Um, I am married. I have a beautiful wife at home, four kids at home, two dogs, two cats, the whole nine yards. It’s a bit of a circus. Um, always on my toes with everybody and, uh, it’s just a, it’s a, it’s a crazy ride. So, yeah, again, we’re, we’re real pumped here. Bring, uh, bring some, uh, maybe some entertainment to y’all out here on this podcast or, uh, maybe some information. Evan likes to dive down some really deep rabbit holes, um, so it could get a little interesting. You might want to take notes, maybe not, but, uh, I think it’s gonna be a good time here.

Speaker 1: (04:34)
Yeah, just a warning. Um, if you’re interested in soil science, plant biology, you know, everything that’s super nerdy, you’re gonna love this. Uh, ’cause that’s what I like to talk about. If that bores you, you’re still gonna love it because Zach likes to listen to me talk and, uh, can probably bring it down to a, a understandable level even when I have no idea what I’m talking about. And just keep rambling. So, um, I think you guys are really gonna enjoy it. Please leave us comments, um, like, and review us on your favorite pod catcher. Just kinda let us know what you guys want to hear. We can talk about anything. We do it all the time. So, um, also if you would like to leave us a Google review on Easy custom Ag, we would really appreciate that. We’re just trying to get our name out there, um, and actually be seen. Obviously we’re not as popular as some of the other farm celebrities that we see around, and the guys that are, have already made their way. So just try to spread us around as much as you can and we’ll bring you information, bring you some entertainment, and, uh, we can’t wait to hear from you guys.

Speaker 2: (05:44)
Yeah, I mean, I think we’re gonna get some, uh, we got a lot of topics we’d really like to hit and we’re gonna take a really good stab at it here and, uh, we might be your next favorite celebrities.

Speaker 1: (05:57)
Woo. Thanks guys.
