Liquid fertilizer is a growing market and not all of the products are created equal. For many years we have had the ortho vs. poly discussions but today it goes so much deeper than that. When we are looking at micronutrients, we have to pay close attention to forms and chelation’s. With Brandt, we are able to offer many forms of chelation to fit any need you may have.

Smart Technology – A sugar alcohol chelation that helps transport the nutrient into the plant very efficiently and has great tank mix capabilities.

Manni-Plex Technology – Cost effective form of nutrients that have great foliar absorption capabilities but does not have tank mix capabilities like Smart nutrients.

EnzUp Technology – This form of nutrition uses enzymes to protect nutrients and improve soil condition around the area where the fertilizer is placed.

Sequestar Technology – This technology is suited best for soil applications. These are your EDTA chelated nutrients that have great mixing capabilities and are able to stay readily available in the soil.

Organiplex Technology – This formulation is made specifically for organic growers. These products offer a cost-effective option to our organic growers.

For those looking to increase efficiency by working with soil biology, we have many options that can fit most situations. We as farmers spend an insane amount of money on NPK fertilizers. With the nitrogen we have in the air, and the naturally found nutrients in our soil, we can take advantage of living soil biology and release some of these nutrients. This is a more complex process than some companies lead us to believe. Many companies are selling straight nutrient release soil biology without considering the effects this could have in the soil. We must look at how these nutrients are released. Nutrients in the soil are changed from Organic (Unavailable) to Inorganic (Plant Usable) by a microbe that eats a carbon, which then releases the nutrient we are after. When this happens, we are burning carbon out of our soil if we do not have a plan to replenish it. That is why BW Fusion and Brandt have both developed products that are designed to break down complex carbons, and release them back into the soil to continue the cycle and maintain soil health. With products like Meltdown & Rezadone, we are able to break down the fodder left behind by the previous year’s crop quicker, and more completely than if we just left this residue on the soil’s surface. This not only returns carbon to the soil, but also releases the nutrients that are stored in the residue. Soil biology can help keep nitrogen where we want it when applied, and can also help protect our plants against disease in certain situations. Microbes are a very powerful tool when used correctly. We just have to remember that not all biologicals on the market are created equally. Using synthetic or modified bacteria in our soils could have negative effects. That is why all of the biological products that we recommend are 100% naturally occurring soil biology that are ready to go to work for you as soon as they hit the soil.

Adjuvants

Adjuvants have come a long way in both ease of use, and performance in the past few years.  We can all agree that there is nothing worse than slinging 50lb bags of dry AMS in 90 degree weather all summer. This may still be the best and only choice for use with products like Liberty, but as with just about everything else we have much better options. Products like Super 7 offer us an easy to use, low use rate water conditioner. With rates ranging from 1pt-1qt/ 100 gal, say goodbye to having pallets of AMS in your tender trailer. Are you spraying Dicamba? Need a complete 1 jug option to check all of the label compliance boxes? Look no further. With the Adjulock lineup, we have options to cover all compliance issues when spraying dicamba both pre and post emergent. Becks PFR has done some awesome studies with our Brandt Indicate 5 product during fungicide application, showing how correcting the pH of your water can drastically increase the efficacy of the fungicide you are using. These economical products are a must in a world where chemical costs are breaking the bank.

Humic & Fulvic Acids

Humic and fulvic acids are an interesting world to explore. They are the life blood for our plants and soil biology. They harness so much nutrient holding potential, and are so stable that they can be a huge benefit in certain applications. An article that goes into extreme detail on this topic can be found here: Download

Soil Conditioners

We offer a soil conditioner that can loosen soil and reduce compaction. Agri-SC also acts as an anti-crusting agent after planting. With the tight clay soils we have in southern Ohio crusting can be a huge issue. Using Agri- SC in our pre emergent pass, we are able to reduce some of the negative effects of crusting, increase emergence, and improve how evenly our plants come out of the ground.

Talc

Something that is often forgotten is seed lubrication. We don’t give much thought to what we use or what we PAY. We go to the local dealership and pick up a couple of buckets when we need some parts, but would you believe that you could be paying up to 40% more by doing this. Talc and graphite are imperative to having good seed flow, and insure excellent singulation. We offer both straight Talc and a Graphite Talc Blend 80/20.

Enzymes & Microbes

The Difference Between Enzymes & Microbes: Microbial products contain live microbes. To survive in the soil, microbes require nutrients, optimal pH, salt and organic matter – which causes them to have a high death rate, especially during harvest and tilling. It takes months to build up microbe levels in the soil. In contrast, enzymes are non-living organisms, which makes them more stable in the soil. When they are applied to the soil, they are immediately active, and perform consistently across all soil types.
